21 STEPS TO RETAIL PROGRAMME – 2015 APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

The Kwa-Zulu Natal Fashion Council is pleased to announce that it's Fashion Design Capacity Building Programme:u21 STEPS TO RETAIL" will take place in ILembe.

The KZNFC aims to develop and mentor designers to a level where they can manage sustainable businesses. Designers are hereby offered the opportunity to bridge the gap between their design skills and business knowledge.
THE CURRICULUM INCLUDES: 1.Technical Skills Training - inspiration, trends, textiles, mood-boards, pattern-making, etc..• 2.Business Skills Training - brand management, costings, marketing, etc..• 3.Personal Development - time and stress management, etc.•• 4.Mentorship- Design and create a collection S.Market Access initiative- KZNFC fashion show & Pop-up shops 6.1nternational trade platforms

The workshops will be held over a 3 month period, with training taking place weekly.
WORKSHOPS WILL COMMENCE ONTHE 28TH APRIL 2015. SELECTED DESIGNERS MUST BE ABLE TO COMMIT TO THE TRAINING SESSIONS, travel to the training venues and be able to finance a collection of approximately 12garments.
Qualifying designers should have a formal education infashion; have a registered company and brand label; be in business for a minimum of 2-3 years with solid market I customer base, supply stores or have their own studio.

•Completed application form
•Comprehensive CV- max 3 pages
•Certified copy of your ID
•Copies of Qualifications
•Valid Tax Clearance Certificate
•Proof of Company Registration. Must be a registered entity
•Company and Brand Profile with traceable references of stores that stock your range
•A CD consisting of 5 - 10 product pictures and your Brand Logo in high resolution
•Business plan
Selected designers will be required to pay a commitment fee of only RSOO.
